James Turner (JT)
Founder & CEO
JT brings over 20 years of research and insights experience having worked both agency and client-side in senior roles. He helps solve knotty problems with a wide range of research techniques. Until recently, JT was Chief Operating Officer in Europe at Edelman Berland, the strategic insights division of Edelman, the world’s largest communications agency. He is Founder and CEO of delineate. Prior to Edelman, JT held senior management positions at Black Swan Data, ICM, FreshMinds, BT and IRI. He lectures in research techniques and is a regular industry speaker.
Business Development Director
Darren has a wealth of experience helping clients gain the necessary insights to enable them to deliver strategic action and communication plans that truly enhance their engagement initiatives with both their staff and customers.
Darren was part of the team responsible for delivering the OutRight research in 2006 which was conducted by QSoft Consulting in conjunction with Channel 4 and OMD. This was one of the first large-scale market research studies to look at the LGBT community by using quant and qual techniques to track audience attitudes, spending habits and brand preferences in sectors including retail, technology and travel across eight countries.
Since then Darren has worked with a range of companies in both the public and private sectors delivering bespoke research projects as well as creating and implementing Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. Previous clients include NHS Employers and the Strategic Thinkers Forum, AXA, Barclays and Barclaycard, Nationwide and Balfour Beatty.
Partner – Qualitative
Tony loves understanding people – their psychology and behaviour, and how these relate to the world around them (and vice-versa).
A freelance consultant, he specialises in qualitatively-driven work, although is equally comfortable with integrated approaches – on both a national and international scale. Particular areas of interest are brand consultancy, creative development and organisational/ individual behaviour change.
He has most in-depth sector knowledge of finance, digital and FMCG, although, over the years, has listened to what people have to say about almost everything!
External consultant - Insights / Shopper
With over 20 years in Insight, Helen is a passionate Planner plus an advocate of ‘joined up’ insightful thinking and creativity. She has spent the last five years as a consultant, sharing her shopper expertise globally; enabling FMCG companies like Unilever, SABMiller, and Nintendo to build their Activation and Client facing capabilities. She also has extensive experience supporting creative and research agencies such as Partners Andrews and Aldridge, WCRS and Kantar.
Helen previously headed up European Shopper Planning at Britvic / Pepsi and Kimberly-Clark. Prior to that, she worked on Transatlantic and European Brand/Market Planning on brands such as Andrex, Huggies and Kleenex. (She was also Lead Creativity trainer having reached Creative Goddess status!).
Simon & Jonny Arrowsmith

Simon and Jonny Arrowsmith run Grow the Story a creative consultancy that specialises in content development.
Simon is a consultant with over 25 years experience in the arts, communications and people development. He has a wealth of experience in helping brands and individuals craft and share effective stories.
Jonny is a writer and games designer, specialising in crafting and writing stories, designing workshops and building interactive games to bring brand content to life. They consult with a variety of businesses on story content, creative story-based learning design, and internal communications initiatives to improve brand culture.
Tracy "Tarcey" Hubbard
Tarcey is senior director in the custom research practice. Under her leadership delineate offers a suite of thought leadership research and as well as messaging and brand research tools.
Tarcey provides strategic counsel to brands and agencies, with a passion for using data to understand human behaviour and consumer needs & lifestyles, to solve communications challenges, drive innovation and behaviour change.
Susann leads the delivery and execution of creative strategies, having worked both agency and client side in senior B2C and B2B marcomms roles. After a career as a news journalist with United Newspapers, she moved into corporate communications positions with BBC-tv, BBC Network Radio and Classic FM owners GWR.
Since 2004, Susann has worked was a consultant across a portfolio of clients including the digital out of home leader Ocean Outdoor, William Reed Business Media, global research and diversity specialist Out Now Consulting and the creative digital shop Media Bounty.

Steffan is a specialist SEO and digital content analyst at delineate. He supports thought leadership projects, desk research and media measurement & analytics programmes.
